orange you glad this pen exists?

It’s still early, so I hope you’ll indulge me in this momentary pen craziness. How fantastic is this transparent neon orange pen? If I had to pick a single color that I have (and will) always love, it would be bright orange. I like it in jewelry, on paper, as accents on my shoes and in just about every other capacity — as long as it’s neon. Regular oranges don’t do much for me, but when you add that extra zing that neon or transparent plastic brings, I’m hooked. This beautiful German pen at Spartan in Austin is a great example. This sucker would be way too pretty to hide in a bag; I would have to bust out all my pocketed shirts so I could wear at least the top part loud and proud. My one gripe is that it comes with a blue ink cartridge. Change that baby to orange ink and I would hit “buy” in a heartbeat. Until then, I will continue admiring it online right here at Spartan ($28). (Does anyone know of good neon ink cartridges? I can only imagine how much more annoying my agenda notes for Amy would be written in electric orange.) xo, grace

I think i have (somewhere in my drawers) a big casket full of finished pens in every single colour! It’s one of the amazing collections of my childhood!!

Looks to me like you need to check out Diamine orange cartridges. They’re really bright and would suit your needs perfectly I think!

If you really want to be blown away, check out the Parker DuoFold in Orange.

Lovely! I may need to head on over to Spartan to try this thing out. I’m so curious to see how the ink actually looks. It really is a beautiful pen!

Get converter cartridges for all your pens & look to Noodlers Ink for awesome colors – including highlighter inks! Folks even do very cool DIY blends with Noodlers.

Noodlers makes several neon inks for fountain pens. You would need to get a converter to refill, but over time it’s much more affordable than using cartridges.

Jetpens is awesome. I am a total pen junkie and while orange ink isn’t my thing, I definitely can relate to wanting a specific color ink in my fancy pens.

I will definitely 3rd the comments about Noodler’s inks–they’re gorgeous!

I have that exact same pen only completely clear. You can actually get this pen at JetPens for just $23.50, and they do free shipping on orders over $25! http://www.jetpens.com/Kaweco-Ice-Sport-Fountain-Pen-Fine-Nib-Orange-Body/pd/5832

While they don’t have orange ink cartridges for this specific pen, you can get a bottle of pen ink (http://www.jetpens.com/Pen-Refills-Inks/ct/55?ip=24&f=bb386e18dd2dd37f) and either eyedrop it into the cartridge that you already have (cleaned out of course) or buy a convertor, which looks just like the cartridge but is easier to fill up. They don’t have them for this pen online, but I easily got one at a pen shop for a couple dollars.

Ah, love a cool fountain pen. The ink just looks better! One of the cool things about living in Bruxelles, always seemed to have a lot of fountain pens for sale in the stationary/pen sections of stores.

Kaweco makes some fine pens! Converting to eye drop and using your own ink is definitely the best way to go (as most commenters have already pointed out).

Kind of a pen geek myself and I try to write about them when I can – feel free to check out my pen news blog, Penbound, if you’re especially feeling pen-crazy http://penbound.co.vu (sorry, it’s kinda under construction lately).

Personally, I’m saving up for the Kaweco Lilliput (but can’t decide on the silver or black).

I’ve actually bought a pack of neon cartridges at Office Depot, not too long ago. No orange, but still…

I love bright orange too. You’d love the fire Native American flutes at http://goo.gl/yifz6. They’re really bright orange (although not neon) like the flame azalea. So the orange you like is a very natural color — a natural affinity!

I love trying new pens and inks, but so far, my favorite inks are from Levenger. They’re less watery than other inks I’ve tried. No orange, but they do make a lovely purple. Also bookmarking all these other sites people are mentioning. I’m not allowing myself to buy more pens/ink till I use up my current stock (it could be years), but I’m hoping this new resolution will inspire me to write more by hand.

PS–I got an e-mail from my friend the other day: “Did you know the woman who does the blog Design*Sponge is named Grace Bonney?!” (My daughter’s name is Bonnie Grace.)
